Don’t
miss The Miami Saxophone Quartet and special guests The University of Miami
Frost School of Music’s Stamps Quintet in a free, all-ages concert under the
stars in Downtown Hollywood. World-renowned jazz masters Gary Keller, Gary
Lindsay, Ed Calle, and Mike Brignola have created a contemporary sound unique
among saxophone quartets, incorporating their home city's wildly diverse
cultural influences and exploring the realms of Jazz, Pop, Latin, R&B, and
chamber music. Performing both originals and their own arrangements of songs
from a diverse array of musical legends, including John Coltrane, Paul Simon,
Pat Metheny, James Taylor, Thad Jones, and Chucho Valdes, the quartet's
performances appeal to audiences of all ages and persuasions. Opening the show
will be the University of Miami Frost School of Music's Stamps Quintet,
featuring tomorrow's jazz luminaries.
