An Important and Personal Note Direct From Charlie at Jazz & Blues Florida – We Are Asking for Your Help TODAY

Hello and thank you for taking a moment to read this important message.

You’re receiving this note because, over the years, you’ve crossed paths with Jazz & Blues Florida — as a reader, artist, venue, client, or colleague. We know this message may reach you through more than one channel, and we appreciate your understanding as we make sure our community stays informed. Your address has not been added to our mailing list - this is our one-time annual communication.

We’re reaching out with three quick updates, and a direct ask for your help:

🛍️ Our Online Merch Store Closes Friday, March 28 (tomorrow!)
We’re wrapping up a short test run of merchandise and would appreciate your help in moving the final items before the store closes. Every purchase helps support our work — and helps us avoid having to file another Florida sales tax return in April! Plus, you’ll be set for festival season with some great gear that will identify you as someone that is truly connected with the scene.

👉 Visit the JBF Store and Score Yours Before It's All GONE

📣 Our New Model Is Working – And We’re Booking Ahead
Since shifting away from monthly magazine publishing, we’ve been delivering more personalized support to Florida’s jazz and blues artists, venues, and events through email, blog, and social media campaigns. If you or someone you know is looking for proven targeted visibility at the lowest cost possible for the value provided, our limited promotion slots are filling quickly.

👉 Promotion Info & Rate Sheet

📬 Help Us Keep This Scene Connected
Email has become the most reliable way to share timely, accurate, and useful information about live jazz and blues in Florida. Social media has become crowded and inconsistent — but this list delivers personalized information directly to inboxes.

If you value what we do, here is how to support it, at no cost:

Since 2006, Jazz & Blues Florida has published over 7,500 free blog posts, reaching more than 2.75 million readers. That work has always been made possible by people like you — by a community that values real information, real connections, and real music.

Thank you for being part of it. Thank you for your time, your support, and for helping us keep live music strong across the state.

Sincerely,
Charlie

An Important and Personal Note Direct To JBF Email Subscribers From Charlie at Jazz & Blues Florida – We Are Asking for Your Help NOW

Hello, and THANK YOU for being a JBF email subscriber,

We’re reaching out today with a very personal message, and we hope you’ll take a moment to read and consider helping in a few important ways.

🛍️ THE JBF MERCH STORE IS OPEN – FOR JUST TWO DAYS!
We’re winding down our merchandise trial run, and we need your help to move the few remaining items. The online store is open today and tomorrow only, and every purchase helps support the work we’ve been doing for nearly two decades, and we really don't want to have to file a sales tax return again in April. Please take a look and consider picking up something before it closes so you too can be sporting the cool stuff for the festival season:

📣 THE NEW JBF MODEL IS WORKING – AND GROWING
Since shifting our focus away from the magazine, we’ve been able to deliver even more targeted support to artists, venues, and events across Florida.
If you know someone who needs visibility in the jazz or blues scene—please send them our way or forward this link to our new rate sheet:
👉 Promote with JBF – Rates & Info

📬 YOU MAKE THIS ALL POSSIBLE – AND WE NEED MORE LIKE YOU
We appreciate you being here. This subscriber list is the most dependable way to keep Florida’s jazz and blues fans connected. With social media becoming increasingly unreliable and disconnected from music, this list is essential to keeping the music scene informed and engaged.

Even though we have one of the best open rates in the business, only about half of our subscribers are opening our emails. That means we’re paying for thousands of unread messages. These simple clicks—opening and reading—are like a no-cost payment that keeps Jazz & Blues Florida moving forward.

This is not a GoFundMe. Everything we’re asking support for offers something in return—whether it’s a shirt, a service, or access to information that benefits the entire Florida live music scene. Every item, every post, every campaign gives something real and useful back to the people who make it possible.

Over the years, we’ve delivered more than 7,500 announcements that have been read over 2.75 MILLION times to the community at no charge to readers. If you believe in what we do, we ask that you help in three easy ways:

We are grateful for your time, your attention, and your support.
Thanks for helping us keep the music alive and well in Florida.

Charlie

GOLD COAST FACEBOOK
Fort Lauderdale Visitor Information

The Gold Coast Jazz Society is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of jazz music through a mainstage concert series, free community concerts, educational programs, a jazz scholarship program and musical services provided by the Gold Coast Jazz Society Band.

Gold Coast Jazz Society History
Frederick G. Ruffner, Jr. had a vision to bring more jazz to the “Gold Coast” area of South Florida.  In 1992, Fred and a group of avid jazz buffs made this vision a reality by forming a non-profit organization called the Gold Coast Jazz Society in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Following its formation, the GCJS developed a concert series, which was presented in the main dining room of the historic Riverside Hotel, located on the famous Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.  As the concert series continued to grow and expand, a larger venue was required.  The concert series was eventually moved to the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, located in the Arts & Science District of Fort Lauderdale.  Today, the seven-concert jazz series continues to be presented in the Amaturo Theater each year from November through May.  Over the years the Society has grown and expanded to include the presentation of jazz education and community outreach activities, the Jeanette M. Russell Jazz Scholarship Program, and many special events throughout the year.
