Damien Escobar is a two-time Emmy Award-winning violinist, composer, and entrepreneur from Jamaica, Queens, New York. He began playing the violin at the age of eight, and at ten, became the youngest student ever accepted into the Juilliard School. He graduated at the age of 13.
Escobar first rose to prominence as one-half of the groundbreaking duo Nuttin' But Stringz, known for blending classical violin with hip-hop and R&B. After the group disbanded in 2012, he launched a successful solo career, earning acclaim for his genre-defying sound and electrifying performances.
Known for his inspiring story of resilience, Escobar overcame periods of homelessness on his journey to international success. He has released multiple solo albums, including Sensual Melodies and Boundless, and continues to captivate audiences with his dynamic fusion of jazz, R&B, classical, and pop influences.
His show in Fort Lauderdale at the Broward Center is part of the TD Bank Jazz Series.
