Vanessa Collier blends rock, soul and blues and is a winner of three Blues Music Awards including a win for 2022 Award for Contemporary Blues Female Artist. This year Vanessa is busy touring summer festivals highlighted by shows at the Rochester International Jazz Festival, RBC Ottawa Blues Festival, Winthrop Rhythm & Roots Festival and a two week tour of Europe. Vanessa graduated with a dual degree from the prestigious Berklee College of Music and was invited to play alongside Annie Lennox and Willie Nelson at Berklee’s commencement address. She also worked with Kathy Mattea, Bill Cooley, Patrice Rushen, and many more visiting artists while studying at Berklee. Her influences include among others Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones and The Wood Brothers.

Blues on the Patio Series in Gainesville Presented BLUES MEETS GIRL

The Blues are the roots of African American music today. On The Patio, a bi-monthly series presented by the museum and the North Central Florida Blues Society, features local and regional blues artists. This series provides a network of association for area blues lovers and build upon the Blues Education program by encouraging youth participation. Admission is FREE! The next On The Patio show is scheduled w/ DoubleDuce, Featuring JW Gilmore and Dalton James on April 28, 2024.

Free close-by parking. And it may be a good idea to bring a chair due to high attendance.

Award-winning New York City jazz pianist/accordionist Ben Rosenblum celebrates the release of his most recent album, “A Thousand Pebbles”, together with his sextet, the Nebula Project. An internationally touring multi-instrumentalist, Rosenblum has been described as “mature beyond his years” by Sea of Tranquility, and an “impressive talent” by All About Jazz.  Downbeat Magazine further describes Rosenblum as an artist who “caresses [the music] with the reverence it merits”. 

Rosenblum’s signature sound combines modern, melodic sensibility with his broad knowledge of a variety of musical lineages from the past one hundred years. The Nebula Project draws from an eclectic repertoire, which includes selections from the jazz and popular music traditions, as well as global music influences from South America, Eastern Europe, Ireland and the Caribbean.  

This is a show you don’t want to miss!  The band never repeats the same program twice in a row.  Every evening is a unique experience shaped by the audience and the setting.  

The Nebula Project features some of the most talented and in-demand musicians in New York City. In addition to Ben Rosenblum, the band includes: Wayne Tucker – trumpet, Jasper Dutz – sax and bass clarinet, Rafael Rosa – guitar, Marty Jaffe – bass, and Ben Zweig - drums.



The Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center is managed by the 
Miami-Dade County  Department of Cultural Affairs, with funding support 
from the Office of the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County 
Commissioners.  The Center is dedicated to presenting and supporting 
arts and culture and providing access to the arts to the entire 
Miami-Dade County community.
           
It is the policy of Miami-Dade County to comply with all of the requirements 
of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  The facility is accessible and 
assistive listening devices are available in the Main Stage 
Auditorium and the Black Box Theater space. To request materials

The A. Quinn Jones Museum & Cultural Center, housed in the former Jones Family home at 1013 NW 7th Avenue in Gainesville, Serves as a tribute to one of the most influential educators in the history of Alachua County. The Museum features a permanent exhibit on “Prof” Jones, the people and places of the Fifth Avenue/Pleasant Street neighborhood, and houses a collection of oral histories centering on the African-American experience in Gainesville.

Jazz & Blues Florida - February 2024 Quick Report - 15 years! We're not in a rut, it is a DEEP GROOVE!

For nearly two decades, Jazz & Blues Florida has been creating a vibrant tapestry of musical experiences, uniting enthusiasts, artists, and venues throughout the Sunshine State. March marks the 15th year of Jazz & Blues Florida's entirely online presence operating under this name, and to celebrate, a significant awareness campaign is underway. Clients stand to benefit from this milestone, along with exciting plans for expanded operations in branded merch, soon to be revealed.
