MIAMI’S NEWEST
AND HOTTEST
JAZZ PROPERTY
OPENS THIS WEEK!
Grand Opening
Thursday, November 14, 2013 - 9:30pm.

Filling the void on South Beach for visitors and locals alike, Arena Lounge, South Beach’s newest restaurant and entertainment lounge, will feature world eclectic cuisine by Chef Eduardo Rodrigues complemented by nightly performances that range from Jazz and Blues to Cabaret, theatrical acts and more.

Located in lower South Beach, on Washington at 6th Avenue, Arena features a café style lounge at the entrance with bar stools, high-tops and a casual dining bar menu. Deceptively quaint as guests enter, the rear of the venue is an expansive club atmosphere with plush banquets, a performance stage, and cabaret style dining.

“Arena is an alternative to the majority of other nightclubs on South Beach. By providing a relaxing and inviting atmosphere that features acclaimed performances, complimented by amazing cuisine, we’re giving guests a full ‘experience’ that goes beyond just going out for dinner,” said manager Mauro Silva.

Special performers at Arena will include master percussionist Sammy Figueroa, a twice Grammy nominated musician for his superior work in the Best Latin Jazz category. Sammy Figueroa has long been regarded as one of the world's great musicians. Known as a leading percussionist, he has played on countless records, providing the rhythmical framework for hundreds of hits. Well-known for his versatility and professionalism, Figueroa is one of the few percussionists equally comfortable in a multitude of styles, from R & B to rock to pop to bebop to Latin to Brazilian to New Age.

Regular performers at Arena will be the ‘Rene Toledo Quintet,’ who will serve as the Arena Lounge Band, which will include ongoing collaborations with a variety of celebrated female artists including Hali Kayloni. Toledo was born in Cuba and has studied guitar since the age of ten. He has a long history of professional musical training and has participated in hundreds of recordings with renowned artists that include Miley Cyrus, Celion Dion, Ricky Martin, Mark Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, and Gloria Estefan, to name a few. Toledo has been awarded 5 Grammy certificates for his work on songs that have garnered multiple Grammy awards. Kayloni’ style was perfected by studying under many great musicians as well as her many influences including Bob Marley and Erika Badu. From an artist who’s self proclaimed favorite tune to perform Peggy Lee’s “Fever” and her newest single titled “Cherry Pie,” you know her performance will be memorable.

Heading up the kitchen at Arena is Florida native Chef Eduardo Rodrigues. Rodrigues has spent time in the kitchens of prestigious restaurants throughout South Florida including, most recently, at the National Hotel, the Grand Bay Club on Key Biscayne, and within the acclaimed restaurants on the posh private venues on Fisher Island.
Rodrigues’ selection of global eclectic cuisine will features dishes that include Linguini A la Fruto ($20), di Mare Shrimp A El Ajillo ($17), and a house specialty, Paella Valenciana ($22). Chef Rodrigues uses locally sourced ingredients coupled with those brought in from around the world. Homemade pastas, imported Italian cheeses, and sustainable seafood come together for a menu served in a unique atmosphere accented by nightly entertainment.

Amazing worldly cuisine by an acclaimed chef and celebrated performances come together at Arena Lounge to make for one of the most exciting and unique experiences available in Miami.
