Your chance. To hang w/ Al and couple hundred of his nearest and dearest at something BIG....

Submitted by Al Kanovsky 4/15/13

You probably weren't at Woodstock. More than likely you weren't at the Monterey JAZZ Festival when Janis Joplin was there. I doubt if many of you were at the opening of Birdland or Bop City in New York. On Tuesday (April 16, 2013) you will have the opportunity to be part of something BIG in music. You can help in saving JAZZ in a great venue. It's known as ARTS GARAGE. Ed Calle said it was the best place in the world for him to perform. Several JAZZ pianists have told me the piano is the best in South Florida. Troy Roberts was amazed at the close attention the audience paid to his "avant" performance. Poets, painters, dramatists--artists of every type have a chance to 'present' at the GARAGE. Your help in letting the Delray City Council know that you want them to preserve this valuable asset is needed. Tuesday evening at 6:30, supporters will meet at ARTS GARAGE at 1601 NE 1st St., Delray Beach and then walk to the meeting a block away. This is written with no urging from anyone but myself. I go to the GARAGE and am gratified that they bring the best of JAZZ and BLUES to me. Take this opportunity to be able to say "I was there". I will.

Sorry, no music review blog for Monday----need a night of just 'chillin' with a book and a bottle.
