Another jewel in Florida's jazz scene found...Jazzland Cafe in Jacksonville!

After the short evening (Ending at 10pm? What is THAT about?) of fantastic Soul Blues R&B at  European Street with Little Jake & The Soul Searchers wrapped up, it was short trip 10 minute trip to the last destination for the night - Jazzland Cafe for The Femunicians Jazz Ensemble:  Linda Witsell, Classical Jazz Flutist and Ensemble Leader -  Allana Southerland, Saxophone - Joyce Genwright, Bass Guitar- Gwenetta McIntyre, Piano- Melanie Di Lorenzo, Drums. Once I saw the long line of parked cars I knew we were in the right place and had found this aptly named haven of jazz in north Florida! Only caught a bit of the set we walked in on and the whole last set, and this venue is already on the must-return-for-whole-night short list. I applied for a dishwashing job so I could really hang here, but some issue that arose about 'qualifications' seemed to be a hindrance... Anyway, if was working here, I think that if nobody else ever played here but the ladies that were there this night, I would still be a happy person….

Here are some vid clips and photos so you can get a feel for the vibe…enjoy!
