HUGE congrats to The Pit Bull Of the Blues for winning the 2014 Central Florida Blues Challenge! The kicked butt and delivered an outstanding performance!! Josh, Pops, and Richie make it look easy to us mere mortals! Look for details on an upcoming fundraiser to help get them to Memphis and the International Blues Challenge (IBC)!! Major congrats to The Paul Stott Group for taking home the People's Choice Award!! Paul, Rick, and Joe always give us their A game we look forward to them keeping us grooving at Live After 5 in Sanford!!!! Our two winners exemplify what we expect to carry on the tradition of outstanding LIVE Blues performances.They were the best of the best today!!
This year was special because we had an outstanding solo performer Mr. Bing Futch who just wooed the crowd with a short history lesson and a kick ass performance!!! Bing is going to work with our Blues in The Schools program in September! Great for the kids for sure!! Congrats Bing for being our Solo Performer Award Winner!!
I can't finish this email without thanking the Andrew Williams Band and Don't Scare The Dog for participating and showing the fans some great Blues guitar from two of the great local young guns, Andrew and Luke!! They both have outstanding rhythm sections with youth on drums and veterans on bass. Excellent combination and we will be expecting more from both of these band in the coming months and next year!!
Congrats to our Membership & Support Award winners - Dave and Susan Kerlin, Nedra Goettling, and Jerry Waller!! We love the all and appreciate everything they do! Make sure you congratulate Ms. Zaida Zoeller for being our nomination for the Blue Foundation Keeping The Blues Alive Award!! She has have done so much for our organization and the Blues scene here in Central FL. We thank her fo' sho'!!
Congrats to all of our raffle winners and our grand prize winner Donna DeGood Weitzel for winning the Stratocaster today!! Woohoo!!! Enjoy!!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!! I know I did!! The OBBS team would like to thank all of our volunteers for helping out today! We could not have done this without your help. Our stage crew, sound crew, admissions team, raffle team, equipment tracking and check in team, and anyone how lifted a hand to help, we could not have done this without you!!! Thanks to Blue 42 for opening their doors to the Blues family here in Central FL. Winter Garden has gem in this place and it's now part of our Blues Family!!!
