Growing up in Chicago, Freddy, youngest of 5 including his brother Nat King
Cole recalls, “Music was all around me with visitors that included Duke
Ellington, Count Basie and Lionel Hampton”. Moving to NYC in 1951 to study
at Julliard, Freddy successfully laid the groundwork for a career that
continues to flourish to this day.
