world-wide launch of newest release,
“Quédate Conmigo”!
FUNDarte in collaboration with The Miami Dade County Auditorium presents
JavierRuibal in Concert,
direct from Spain, with Cuban pianist OrienteLopez and bassist Sean
Kupisc at On.Stage Black.Box Theater at Miami Dade County
Auditorium (2901 W Flagler St., Miami, FL 33135) on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at
7:00 p.m.
Discover
the unique and transcendental sound of Javier Ruibal, an artist
whose 30-year career spans explorations into the music of North Africa and
Andalusia, writing and performing songs that represent intimate encounters with
life itself. Fusing modulations from the Flamenco tradition with innovative
influences from pop music and other musical styles, this artist has developed a
unique signature sound that evokes a magical world of exotic travel and
adventure in which Europe meets Africa and the Mediterranean meets the
Caribbean. Ruibal is neither a pop artist nor a jazz musician, yet he brings
soul to pop forms and accessibility to jazz. His music is ripe with Berber
echoes, African soul, American blues and French love songs, as well as the
purity and pathos of Flamenco, and lyrics filled with the love, angst, and the
tribulations of daily life. Ruibal will be launching his latest LP “Quédate
Conmigo” here in Miami, and performing songs from this latest
recording as well as his well-known extensive repertoire.
