Red-hot blues and ice-cold brews are on tap for the Second Annual Casselberry Craft Beer & Blues Festival. This exciting event, held Friday, Nov. 14 from 5–9 pm at Lake Concord Park (located at 95 Triplet Lake Dr.), will feature a variety of premium craft beers along with undulating blues sounds by some of the best local blues bands in the Central Florida area and headliners, Steady Rollin' Bob Margolin and the Nighthawks!
This scorching blues event kicks off at 5pm with The Jeff Howell Blues Band, bringing their porch-pickin' unique brand of Louisiana acoustic blues and rock and roll to the stage. Next in line from 6-7 pm will be the award-winning Paul Stott Band. Headliners, the legendary blues guitarist Steady Rollin' Bob Margolin will be joined by the Nighthawks to perform a sensational concert full of deep Chicago blues style with a mix of rock, rockabilly, soul and swing from 7-9 pm.
Steady Rollin' Bob Margolin, a Blues guitarist and singer, tours worldwide today as a bandleader or guest with both legendary and contemporary musicians. Bob played guitar in Muddy Waters’ band from 1973-’80. In 2013, Bob was nominated for The Blues Foundation’s Blues Music Award for Traditional Male Blues Artist. He has won Blues Music Awards for guitar in 2008 and 2005. He received the 2013 Keeping the Blues Alive Award for Journalism, appreciating his 20 years writing for Blues Revue. In 2011, his eBook Steady Rollin’ was published. In today’s Blues scene, Bob Margolin is carrying on the tradition with a full schedule of tours, festivals, concerts, and club appearances. As part of the event, about 15 gourmet food trucks from The Food Truck Bazaar (www.thefoodtruckbazaar.com) will offer delicious culinary delights that range from mouth watering flatbread pizzas and Bar-B-Q to scrumptious frosted cupcakes and fruit-filled crepes. Let’s not forget shopping. The festival includes a park full of art and specialty vendors displaying their works as you stroll and enjoy the live blues entertainment.
