JAZZ EXPLOSION COMES TO SUNRISE EPIC THEATER SEPTEMBER 26, 2026

South Florida jazz fans have another live performance to add to the September calendar when Jazz Explosion comes to the Sunrise Epic Theater in Sunrise, Florida, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 7 p.m.
The program brings together Eddie “Oriente” Balzola and Ginetta’s Vendetta, presenting two distinct approaches to jazz with improvisation, rhythm and live ensemble interaction at the center of the evening.
Cuban-born guitarist, composer and arranger Eddie Balzola founded Oriente in 1993. The group’s sound draws from jazz, blues, Afro-Cuban and Caribbean rhythms, with guitar-driven arrangements and room for improvisation. Oriente made its early debut at New Orleans jazz club Snug Harbor and has remained active in the South Florida jazz community for more than three decades.
Balzola and Oriente have also appeared previously at Sunrise Lakes, including a 2023 Mini Jazz Festival presentation at the same Sunrise location. His return for Jazz Explosion continues a connection between the guitarist and South Florida audiences.
Sharing the program is Ginetta’s Vendetta, led by Ginetta M. on pocket trumpet and vocals. A trumpeter, vocalist, composer, arranger and bandleader, Ginetta has taken the group to performances in the United States and internationally.
Her work combines jazz standards, original arrangements and contemporary influences, with the pocket trumpet serving as a defining part of the group’s sound. In April 2025, Ginetta’s Vendetta performed during the opening week of Expo 2025 Osaka on the USA Pavilion stage in Japan. Her album Fun Size, recorded in 2024, also spent multiple weeks in the Top 40 of the national JazzWeek radio chart.
The September 26 program puts Balzola’s guitar-centered Afro-Cuban and jazz influences alongside Ginetta’s trumpet-and-vocal approach, giving the Jazz Explosion program two different musical perspectives within one concert.
