Dear friends,
Come join our Kazoo and Drum Corps for the Third Annual Fort
Lauderdale Day of the Dead Skeleton Processional in downtown Fort Lauderdale,
Friday, November 2!
All you need to participate is a kazoo, drum or
percussion, and the ability to walk while playing some fun, simple, upbeat
Mexican and Latin tunes like La Bamba, La Cucaracha and Guantanamera.
To
participate in the Kazoo and Drum Corps, please contact me at
LauraSue@SilverNightingale.com for all info.
This will be a very fun
event, stepping off at Fort Lauderdale's Museum of Art Friday at 6:15 PM, and
culminating at FAT Village Arts District, where there will be margaritas and
treats for all marchers, and special Day of the Dead - Dia de los Muertos
exhibits and events throughout the entire FAT Arts Village District from 6 - 11
PM, including a free concert all night at the Boneyard Bandstand, Circus Basura,
live body painting, mask making and Mexican food trucks. You can park at the
Museum, and catch a free shuttle to your car from FAT any time during the
evening.
Non-kazoo players are welcome to join the Processional as well.
It's a family-friendly parade with giant puppets, a mariachi band, mini parade
floats created by kids, our Kazoo and Drum Corps, and lots more! Just show up at
MoAFL at 5 PM on Friday, or come early for the DOTD craft workshops at the
Museum! For more info on all Day of the Dead - Dia de los Muertos events and
