- Details: Orange County's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs named Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras (FSYO) a recipient of its Cultural Tourism Grant program, funded by a portion of the Tourist Development Tax, and honored the organization at the Third Annual ACT Awards. Executive Director Abigail Tran called it "a huge milestone" as a first-time recipient.
- About FSYO: Founded as a supplemental music education program nearly 70 years ago, FSYO is audition-based, serves 320+ students ages 8–18 from 9 Central Florida counties, and performs 10–15 concerts annually across eight ensembles (including two jazz bands). Rehearsals are held at Lyman High School. Over 6,000 people attended FSYO concerts during the 2024–2025 season.
- Scholarship note: FSYO awarded nearly $25,000 in tuition scholarships this past season to keep the program accessible.
- Grant purpose: The funds will go toward expanding FSYO's marketing and outreach across Central Florida — Tran noted the organization has "often been called one of the region's best-kept secrets."
