Since leaving Chicago in 2002, Chad Bernstein has developed into one of South Florida’s premier Latin, jazz and funk artists, playing and recording with top artists Shakira, Pee Wee Ellis (James Brown’s legendary saxophone player and MD), Pharrell, The Temptations, Jennifer Hudson, Paul Anka, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Don Rickles, Calle 13, Phish’s Page McConnell and recent Grammy winning hip-hop artist, Pitbull, where he appeared on The Tonight Show, The Ellen Show and the ALMA Awards.  

He remains highly active writing and playing trombone and conch shells in his two  Miami-based bands, the Spam All Stars and ¡Suénalo!, each of which recorded highly acclaimed albums this year. Chad received his doctorate at University of Miami - his doctoral dissertation on the cognitive and social effectiveness of music mentoring is being incorporated into Guitars over Guns Operation, the non-profit foundation that he co-founded with his dad in 2008.  “GOGO” provides some of Miami’s most at-risk adolescents with a powerful alternative to their crime-riddled neighborhoods.
