City of Casselberry Presents Spring Jazz & Art Fest March 28, 2015

FREE Jazz Concert by
Warren Hill & Eric Darius
Highlights Weekend at
Lake Concord Park

Worldwide performers Warren Hill and Eric Darius will combine forces for a one-of-a-kind free jazz show at Casselberry’s Spring Jazz and Art Festival March 28 at Lake Concord Park.
The Canadian-born Hill has released nearly a dozen albums with sales of more than 1 million copies. His live show is critically acclaimed as one of the best in his genre.
Hill has won six Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards, Berklee Distinguished Alumni, multiple SESAC Songwriter Awards, a Juno nomination and has had multiple No. 1 songs at Radio & Records, USA Today and Billboard.
Hill has performed as a special guest for many artists, including the number 1 pop hits "Baby I Love Your Way" with Big Mountain, "Tell Me What You Dream" with Restless Heart". In the field of contemporary jazz he has been heard on recordings with Chieli Minucci, Keiko Matsui, Jeff Golub, Steve Oliver, Special EFX, John Tesh, to name a few, many of which became No. 1 songs.
Still a vocalist at heart, Hill continues to include his vocals on his CDs, one of which reached Top 20 on the Billboard Charts in 1998 "Shelter From the Storm". His television credits include performances on Arsenio Hall, The Tonight Show and BBC's Top of the Pops.
Darius, who grew up in Tampa, just released a new CD called “Retro Forward,” which includes a saxophone version of the smash hit “Happy.” Darius’ infinite vision has allowed the musical chameleon to collaborate with such diverse superstars as Prince, Jamie Foxx, David Foster, George Benson, Mary J. Blige and Wynton Marsalis to name a few. He has even appeared on the popular Simon Cowell TV series, The X Factor and TNT’s hit TV drama series, Mob City.
For “Retro Forward,” the Billboard chart-topping saxophonist aligns himself with a new crew of producers and writers and the result is a new found energy and sound.
That’s not all the entertainment as local R&B group Evolushon will open the night of great music.
Besides the music, there will be more than 30 vendors and food choices, including barbecue, Spanish and Mexican.
Stop by the Firehouse Sculpture Center and City Hall to view the second annual Experience Contemporary Art Exhibit. Bring your blankets, chairs and friends and celebrate an unforgettable evening of smooth jazz.
