Tampa Jazz Club Presents: The Dave Stryker Quintet March 1, 2015 at HCC/Ybor Campus

Strike a Major Chord in March
w/
The Dave Stryker Quintet!

Tampa Jazz Club and HCC/Ybor Performing Arts Series Present:

The
Dave Stryker Quintet

DAVE STRYKER, in the top echelon of jazz guitarists for years, found new success with his recent CD, "8-Track." Featuring reimagined versions of popular hits of the 70’s such as "Aquarius" and "Never Can Say Goodbye," "8-Track" was named one of the best releases of 2014 by readers of Downbeat Magazine, was Top Ten in national airplay on jazz radio, and #1 in airplay on WUSF’s All Night Jazz, and on WBGO serving New York City. Downbeat also named Stryker one of the Top Guitarists in it's annual poll for the 7th time.
Along with making 25 albums as a leader, Dave Stryker has been in demand by other great bandleaders, hitting the road with organists Jack McDuff and Jimmy Smith, and playing for a decade with saxophone legend Stanley Turrentine (his new cd, out this spring, will be a Turrentine tribute).
Dave Stryker is a busy man in the education field as well, having recently been named Adjunct Professor at Indiana University, and continuing his association with Montclair State University and the nation’s leading jazz camps for young artists.
At his Tampa concert on March 1, featuring songs from "8-Track" and lots more, Stryker will be joined by a stellar band of performers, all associated with the USF Jazz Studies program:

Jack Wilkins, tenor saxophone
Chris Rottmayer, keyboard
Mark Neuenschwander, bass
Ric Craig, drums

Please join us for a great afternoon of music in a beautiful Ybor City theater, with the Dave Stryker Quintet!
