A Note From Judi:
Jazzin it up with Footsteps 2014 concert and Fundraiser
TENOR MADNESS was a fabulous success in so many ways.
First of all, my sincere gratitude to all our generous Sponsors, Silent Auction donors and Guests; without you, our event would have not happened. Thanks to our amazing volunteers and staff,
I was able to breathe easy and spend time at the event greeting our guests and building relationships. And that music!! I knew it would be great, but I was just blown away at the performance. I received so many calls and emails from people saying that it was by far the very best live Jazz music they ever witnessed... some said "I have not heard that type of Jazz since I lived in the "Village" years ago; or "I thought I had to be in Chicago to hear music like that... can't believe it was right here in Naples Fl!"
Success is measured in many ways besides on how much people liked the food, or how exciting the music was. Or about how much money was raised (actually, we doubled what we raised last year, thanks) One of the most significant success stories of the night was involving a young woman in Footsteps. One of our "darlings" had a major breakthrough that evening and it was life changing for her. Before attending the event she was pitifully shy and quite. But that evening in April something magical happened. She opened up, felt more comfortable and confident than ever before. She went from being very uncomfortable and quite, to becoming gregarious, talkative and charming. In addition to that, she sold more raffle tickets than any of the other young women there. Building self confidence and self-worth is a huge step in
becoming successful and we are all so proud of her and
celebrate her success.
Thanks again for supporting our efforts to change the lives of young women in foster care. Joining together we can make a remarkable difference and feel so good about it! If you have not read the program from that evening, please do. There is an abundance of information not only about the "players" that evening but about our Footsteps to the Future program and why we do what we do. Contact me; I would love to hear from you.
Love,
