Why do such stellar musicians all play together in the same band?
“Interactivo is a project of musical cooperation which has joined musicians from a variety of styles: jazz, timba, hip-hop…”, says Roberto Carcassés, the artistic director and band’s leader in which a number of Amazing Cuban musicians have toured: Oscar Valdés, Bobby Carcassés, Carlos Ríos, Domingo Calendario Acosta, Carlos Sarduy, Adel Gonzalez, Yandy Martinez… and this is only the beginning.
The band’s first recording, “Goza Pepillo”, came out in 2005 and won the Best Album prize at the Cubadisco awards the following year. The special chemistry between all the members of the Group, and both the critical and public success have launched this musical phenomena. The result is their second album, “Cubanos por el Mundo”, a work that has spread Interactivo’s notoriety in France , Norway , Italy and Spain .
Interactivo was recently the subject of a documentary by Cuban director Tané Martínez. The film premiered in December 2010 at the Havana International Film Festival and it reflects the band’s strength on stage. When this energy hits Miami , get ready to dance!
