For more than two decades, the Jeanette M. Russell Jazz Scholarship Program has helped Florida’s next generation of jazz musicians pursue formal music education. Established in 2003 through the generosity of Jeanette M. Russell (with additional support from the Elizabeth & Daniel O’Connor Family Foundation and Teri Pattullo in memory of Brian Pattullo), the program reflects the Gold Coast Jazz Society’s education mission by awarding financial assistance for college or university tuition and summer jazz camp tuition and related expenses.

2026 Key Dates

• Application Deadline: February 27, 2026
• Scholarship Competition (Live Auditions): April 18, 2026

What Scholarships Can Help Cover

• College or university tuition
• Summer jazz camp tuition & associated expenses

Who Can Apply

• Florida residents
• Middle school, high school, and college students (current or enrolling)
• Graduating high school seniors

Selection Process

Applicants are reviewed through a competitive application process. Finalists are invited to perform live at the Jeanette M. Russell Jazz Scholarship Competition.
