at the
Broward Center for the Performing Arts' Amaturo Theater

Back by popular demand, Diego Figueiredo and Friends return in February with The Jazz Duets, a special concert series celebrating collaboration at the highest level of contemporary jazz.
Diego Figueiredo is internationally acclaimed as one of the world’s leading jazz guitarists. Known for his remarkable technique, precise timing, and deep musical imagination, he has become one of the most in-demand artists on the global jazz stage. Figueiredo has performed in more than 60 countries and has released 28 CDs, three DVDs, and a book. Jazz impresario Todd Barkan describes him as “a Brazilian genius” and encourages anyone who appreciates the great jazz guitarists to experience his work.
Joining Figueiredo on flute is Nestor Torres, a Grammy Award–winning artist whose sound bridges jazz, Latin, and classical traditions. Torres is widely respected for his expressive tone and lyrical approach, bringing both elegance and rhythmic vitality to every collaboration.
At the piano is Shelly Berg, an internationally recognized pianist, composer, educator, and bandleader. Berg’s refined touch, harmonic sophistication, and deep jazz knowledge make him a sought-after collaborator for artists across the jazz spectrum.
Completing the lineup is Sammy Figueroa, one of the most recorded and respected percussionists in modern jazz. Known for his versatility and subtle groove, Figueroa adds texture and rhythmic depth that elevates each duet into a dynamic musical conversation.
Together, these world-class musicians create an intimate and engaging performance that highlights artistry, spontaneity, and the shared language of jazz.

Michael Kaeshammer
Turn It Up
The March concert will feature the return of internationally renowned Canadian pianist and vocalist
Michael Kaeshammer. This show is part of his
Turn It Up 2024/2025 Tour. The acclaimed Canadian virtuoso pianist and singer has earned an international following as a triple threat: a technical master of many different moods, an eloquent singer-songwriter, and a charming and engaging performer. His signature style weaves classical, jazz, blues, boogie-woogie, stride, and pop into a rich and vibrant sonic tapestry.
Turn It Up, Kaeshammer’s 15th album, is a dynamic and rollicking collection that resists a single, catch-all genre.
