One Morning Soon is the 2025 release from Florida blues artist
Robert “Top” Thomas, marking his third full-length recording.
Produced by Billy Dean at The Hidden Chamber in Florida, the album features
13 tracks blending original compositions with interpretations rooted in the
country blues traditions of Mance Lipscomb, Reverend Gary Davis,
and Blind Willie McTell. Acoustic at its core, the recording emphasizes space,
tone, and feel, allowing the songs and performances to unfold naturally.
One Morning Soon is already receiving worldwide radio airplay on respected blues programs across the U.S., Europe, and other international markets. The album debuted at #1 on the Roots Music Report’s Top 50 Florida Album Chart for the week of December 6, 2025, listed under the Contemporary Blues sub-genre.
Robert “Top” Thomas – Bio
Born in 1959, Robert “Top” Thomas began working professionally at age fourteen
and has built a respected career rooted in country blues, swamp blues,
slide guitar, and fingerpicking traditions.
A longtime Florida-based musician, he has performed solo and with bands,
collaborated with artists including Noble “Thin Man” Watts, Lazy Lester,
Victor Wainwright & The WildRoots, and Mark “Muddyharp” Hodgson,
and co-led the Smokehouse band, touring the U.S. and Europe.
His 2013 release The Town Crier helped establish his international reputation.
