The 34th Annual MLK Jr. Blues Festival returns to Tallahassee on Saturday, January 17, 2026, honoring the life, words, and enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through music, history, reflection, and community gathering.

Presented in recognition of the national holiday, this full-day event celebrates unity, cultural history, and the ongoing journey toward Dr. King’s vision — reminding us that United We Stand. United We Succeed.

A guided historical tour celebrating Dave’s CC Club and its role in the legendary Chitlin’ Circuit, preserving an essential chapter of American music and cultural history.


MLK Jr.’s Last Sunday Sermon

“Remaining Awake Through a Great Revolution”
Presented by Ric Holly

A powerful presentation of Dr. King’s final sermon message, offering reflection and relevance for today’s audiences.

Dave's CC Blues Revue:
Jon Copps, Carlos Barrientos, Charles Atkins, King Cotton Blues Band, Kenneth Blackwell Clark, Performances from some past performers who all participated in helping establish the MLK Jr. Blues Festival as they will share their experiences, thoughts, of MLK Jr. and each perform several songs in celebration.

"Bessie Smith: The Lady and the Empress"
Doris “Lady D” Fields presents a one-woman stage show that she wrote and performs, and it is based on the life and music of blues singer Bessie Smith, who was widely known as the Empress of the Blues. The production combines theatrical storytelling with musical performance and often features many of Smith’s well-known songs.
