It’s a new decade and SJO’s 33rd Season! Our monthly Sunshine Jazz concert series continues to be an exciting and heartwarming gathering, and February will be no exception. SJO is very pleased to present a very special artist in her first SJO concert – Ms. Yvette Norwood-Tiger with her ensemble paying tribute to the great Ella Fitzgerald, “The First Lady of Song”. Yvette performs with vocally clean and pure interpretations of the great American Songbook, while emphasizing intonation and storytelling with styling and texture often compared to that of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. Yvette Norwood-Tiger and her Jazz Ensemble honor Ms. Fitzgerald's memory. They have performed worldwide at famous and historic jazz venues where Ella Fitzgerald once performed. Recently, Yvette Norwood-Tiger performed A`la Ella! to sold out, standing room only audiences at The Royal Albert Hall in London, England, Berlin, Germany, and Cape Town, South Africa.
