The long lonesome road...(Allen Kanovsky knows it when he sees it and says "Goodbye" to David Shelley.)

...is somewhere that all of us have been on at one time or another. 

I just heard about the passing of Dave Shelley. The world of BLUES is in mourning. Dave lived in the real world of music. Tough days behind and maybe tougher days ahead. His handshake and hug came from deep inside him. His smile could warm the coldest night. On stage he left nothing unsaid or untried. Basically, a classic BLUES man, he ventured down paths seldom tried by others. Every one who ever played with Dave was enriched by the experience. I personally, knew him for a short time but was always greeted as if we had been grade school buddies. I choose where I go in the late afternoons. If there was going to be a Dave Shelley appearance my mind would be made up as soon as I knew the date, time and joint. Dave is going on to the Greatest Jam ever. Hopefully we will all get there someday. I'll try to get a seat up close so I can see that smile.

We will all miss you, Dave. Say "Hi" to some of my old 'buds' who made it, tune up, hook up the amps and pedals and blow, man, blow!!!
