Tuning up for The 5th Annual Eustis Jazz Revue

The Annual Eustis Jazz Revue helps to raise funds and as the event grows with each year the community comes together to benefit our local youth music programs. The evening is known to fill all of the senses, an evening that is full of great Jazz played by our 6th to 8th grade Award Winning Eustis Jazz Band Students, directed by Mr Gerald Ricke and our 9th to 12th grade Award Winning Eustis Jazz Band Students, directed by Mr Mathew Flenner. Just before doors open on March 27, 2015 at The First Baptist Church Of Eustis located at 3551 East Orange Avenue, Eustis, FL 32736 the community view original pieces of art all done by the music students themselves at no cost to the students. Plan to experience oils on canvas, drawings, paintings of all styles, colors, and themes and this is open to community and family viewing at 5:00 p.m. These original artwork is to be silently auctioned off as the three course meal is being served at 6:00 p.m.. Served by the music students themselves. This event really has become all about giving back and having a groovy time while doing so.

Tickets are on sale starting February 1, 2015. You may reserve tickets by emailing JazzRevue@EustisBand.com. Tickets cost $30.00 and every dollar goes directly to these important programs. The Jazz students serve you a three course meal at your table. Vegetarian meals are available during ticket purchase by typing in Vegi Meal.  This time allows the audience to ask questions and get to witness how well these students already interact in time restricted, stressful and new working environments.  The meal is prepared by The Eustis High School Culinary Team headed by Chef Nicole Austin. The meal is Salad, Main Course and Dessert all while listening to award winning students play wonderful music. Just prior to the event The Eustis High School JRROTC present the flag. This event includes more than one underfunded school program making it a truly unique fundraiser.

The Eustis Band Programs are honored to have Jeff Rupert for this years clinician. Each year the event invites a different clinician who not only helps to raise funds at the event but also gives each student music group a workshop. This personal time allows the students to expand from normal classroom techniques. Learning of the scholarship possibilities, how to entertain a crowd with confidence, the endless possibilities of being a musician are just a few great things that come from this honor.

Rupert has been a featured soloist on dozens of recordings with artists including Maynard Ferguson, Sam Rivers, Mel Tormé, Diane Schuur and Benny Carter. He played on Carter's Harlem Renaissance which won a Grammy. He played and arranged  for the New Jersey-based Blues band The Fins. He has also performed with Kevin Mahogany, Ernestine Anderson, Joe Farnsworth, Ray Drummond, Harry Allen, pianist Benny Green, Kenny Drew jr, trumpeter Michael Philip Mossman, and pianist and singer Judy Carmichael.

Sponsors are all local and include Henn-House Printing, Sol De Mexico and The Car Doctor.
