Lauded by The New York Times as "one of the most promising young male performers," singer, pianist and songwriter Tony DeSare has earned critical acclaim for his recent performances at the legendary jazz club Birdland, the elegant Café Carlyle, Jazz at Lincoln Center and his new big band show which debuted at the fabled Sands Hotel in Atlantic City. In early 2009, he launched an international tour including three weeks at the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room in New York, two weeks in London, continuing on to cities such as Los Angeles, Boston, Washington DC, Seattle, and St. Louis. According to USA Today, "DeSare belongs to a group of neo-traditional upstarts stretching from Harry Connick Jr, to Michael Bublé and Jamie Cullum."

Tony began singing and playing professionally at 17. The Tony DeSare Trio was one of the most popular bands in central New York State while Tony attended Ithaca College. He took first place in the "IC Showcase," a college-sponsored national battle of the bands. He was a semi-finalist in the MasterCardActs, a national talent search for college performers.

Shortly after moving to NYC in 1999, Tony was cast as the star of the long running Off-Broadway musical, Our Sinatra, in which he was praised by Variety for his "dapper charm." In 2002, Tony performed at the legendary Apollo Theater where he first met jazz guitar icon Bucky Pizzarelli.

Tony's debut album, Want You, was a smash hit debuting at #16 on the Billboard chart. Climbing the charts to #8 on the Billboard charts, his second album, Last First Kiss, spotlights a refreshingly contemporary combination of originals and standards, featuring the legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, a horn section, and Tony's longtime sidemen Mike Lee on bass and Brian Czach on drums. Tony's third CD, Radio Show, was released by Telarc Records in January 2009 to stunning reviews.

Tony composed and performed the title theme to My Date with Drew, an independent documentary feature film about a guy who has 30 days and $1100 to get a date with Drew Barrymore. It has been featured on "The Tonight Show," Today Show," Playboy Magazine, Entertainment Weekly and Premiere. Released in 2005, the film was awarded top honors at the New York Gen Arts Festival, the HBO Comedy Arts Festival and the Vail Film Festival. The movie's theme song, "If I had Drew," is featured on his debut CD.

Later this year, Tony will be headlining major symphonies around the country. For now, the 2009 Summer Concert Series brings him to you, with the Tony DeSare Trio (piano, drums, and jazz bass), in a special holiday concert engagement.
