The North Central Florida Blues Society is pleased to welcome Mud Morganfield to Gainesville for a special performance this evening at the outstanding Heartwood Soundstage listening room. Little Mike and the Tornadoes will open the night, followed by Mud Morganfield fronting his own touring band from Chicago as the featured headliner.

As the eldest son of legendary blues icon Muddy Waters, Mud Morganfield carries forward the traditional Chicago blues sound with authenticity and respect. His performances feature many of his father’s classic songs, along with a strong selection of his own original material. Morganfield earned a Blues Music Award in 2014 through his collaboration with harmonica great Kim Wilson of The Fabulous Thunderbirds on the album For Pops: A Tribute to Muddy Waters.

Opening the evening is Little Mike and the Tornadoes, fronted by the  respected vocalist, harmonica player, and bandleader known for delivering high-energy, roots-driven blues grounded in the Chicago tradition. Little Mike and his band have become a favorite on the blues circuit, praised for their tight, authentic sound and dynamic stage presence.

This concert reflects real connections within the blues community. Artists such as Kim Wilson and Paul Oscher have long been influences in Little Mike’s world, while Mud Morganfield’s band represents a direct continuation of Chicago blues history on today’s touring stage.

Together, these two performances will bring Gainesville an exceptional night of traditional Chicago blues in one of the area’s premier live music settings.

For more than 20 years, the North Central Florida Blues Society has continued its mission of bringing outstanding blues artists to Gainesville, presenting special performances just like this for the region’s dedicated live music community.

The North Central Florida Blues Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, cultivation, nurturing, and promotion of blues music. Members enjoy ticket price discounts that can easily offset the cost of membership over the course of a year. Join at: https://ncfblues.org
