Enjoy an afternoon of sophisticated swing, lyrical melodies, and modern improvisation with the Markus Gottschlich Trio.

Austrian-born and U.S.-based, Markus Gottschlich is a pianist and composer whose work reflects both European classical foundations and a deep connection to American jazz traditions. He is a Steinway Artist and has performed internationally, including appearances connected with festivals such as the Vienna Jazz Festival, Jarasum Jazz Festival (South Korea), and Saulkrasti Jazz Festival (Latvia).

Gottschlich’s albums as a leader include When The Day Is Done (2008), Of Places Between (2013), and Found Sounds (2020). His work is also connected with arts leadership and education through festival, workshop, and community programs.

About the Central Florida Jazz Society

Founded in 1974, the Central Florida Jazz Society is a Florida 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting jazz. From Dixieland and big-band swing to blues, ballads, and contemporary styles, the Society supports a wide range of jazz presentations and community programs.

Its mission includes:

  • Preservation — Supporting jazz as an important cultural contribution.
  • Presentation — Hosting regular concerts featuring a variety of jazz styles.
  • Promotion — Supporting live jazz and Central Florida musicians through its publication, Blue Notes.
