The Maitland Jazz and Blues Festival presented by Duke Energy will showcase some of the best local and touring artists – 13 bands in all – on two stages April 1-2 on Independence Lane in downtown Maitland.

The free family event also will include great food and drinks, crafts and vendors and a kids zone with inflatable slides and bounce houses. For more information and show times, visit www.maitlandjazzandblues.com

Headlining the big concert lineup on April 2 will be legendary, Grammy-winning southern blues rocker Jimmy Hall, who topped the music charts with his band Wet Willie and also performed on stage with friends like Blackberry Smoke, Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa, the Allman Betts Band and many others. He also has been a vocalist and band leader for Hank Williams Jr. since the 1980s.

New York-based vocalist Lucy Yeghiazaryan – considered one of the best traditional jazz artists in her field - will make a special appearance with the Jeff Rupert Quartet on April 2.

They will share the stage on April 2 with local favorite Michelle Amato, who has performed and recorded with an incredibly diverse array of artists, including Liza Minnelli, Quincey Jones, Al Green, Sandi Patty, Jon Secada, Michael McDonald, Donna Summer, Jon Hendricks, Celia Cruz, Rita Marley, and world-renowned composer Yanni.

Grammy-nominated blues singer and harmonica player Rob Paparozzi will perform with the UCF Flying Horse Big Band on April 1. The Winter Park High School Jazz Band will showcase local school talent on April 2. They will join veteran jazz artists The Dave Capp Project on April 1 and Terry Myers and the Pirates April 2.

Blues performers include the Jake and Elwood Blues Revue and CeCe Teneal on April 1 as well as the Shuffle Tones, Three Forks Road, Beautiful Bobby Blackmon and the Beth McKee Band on April 2.

This event is presented by the City of Maitland Parks and Recreation Department with sponsorship from Duke Energy, Orlando Health/Orlando Regional Medical Center, Cigna, Sanford Brewing Company-Maitland and Seacoast Bank.
