Tickets are $100.00, $50.00, $35.00 and $5.00 for Students.The Adderley Brothers Tribute Concert, while being held in the black box theater at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts, is one of many concerts entitled the Sunset Concert Series that will be held in the historic Sunset Lounge.
Master Class with Nat Adderley Jr.
and Longineu Parsons
(Taking place during the day of the show for students)
This long awaited Tribute to the music of two major forces in modern jazz could not have come at a better time. Nat Adderley Jr. and famed trumpeter Longineu Parsons, who have a passion for music education, will conduct a master-class with the Dreyfoos School of The Arts jazz ensemble. This master-class will involve the study of the music of the Adderley brothers, a lecture of the history of these two Florida natives and the contributions both have made to modern jazz. On the evening of the performance the jazz band students will perform as the opening act for the Nat Adderley Jr. Quartet. Longineu Parsons, who will partner with Nat Adderley Jr. in this master-class event, has been hailed by critics internationally as being one of the world’s finest trumpet players. He also performs on recorders, flute and percussion. Longineu performs classical and jazz on trumpet and his compositions include orchestral works and chamber music as well as jazz and world music. He was the protégé of the great cornetist, Nat Adderley Sr.
