The Sunshine Jazz Organization proudly celebrates our 29th
Season of Jazz services with a wonderful, gala evening featuring the
incomparable Master and Guru of the Hammond B-3 organ, Dr. Lonnie Smith! They are
inviting SJO members and the community to join them in celebrating this milestone
achievement and the commencement of the new season of performances, workshops
and events.
Dr. Lonnie Smith has been
an unparalleled musician, composer, performer and recording artist for over five
decades. Featured on over 70 albums, he has recorded and performed with
many of the greatest jazz, blues and R&B giants in the industry. Hailed as
a “Legend”, “Living Musical Icon”, and as the most creative jazz organist by
many, it’s no surprise Dr. Smith’s fan-base is truly worldwide and attracts all
ages.
“SJO” has been promoting Jazz awareness, education and performances
since 1986. As a Miami-based, non-profit entity, our mission is to create and
promote Jazz awareness through our diverse, year-round programming. SJO
produces opportunities for all ages to experience the beauty and importance of
America’s precious, indigenous music...JAZZ!
This celebration is made
possible through the support of members, sponsors and you! Join us on Saturday, September 26th,
2015 from 7:00pm -11:00pm at Miami Shores Country Club, 10000 Biscayne
