About Armandinho, Dodô & Osmar
These three musicians have definitely made a huge impact on the “carnaval” of Brazil, considered to be the biggest street party in the world. Sixty years ago, Dodô and Osmar Macêdo developed what is known today as the “Trio Elétrico”, which consists of a stage and full sound and production set up on top of a truck, which then travels slowly through the streets of Salvador with thousands of revelers dancing in its wake. Today all the major stars of Brazilian music like Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury, Chiclete com Banana and many others use the “Trio Elétrico” format for their parades. Armandinho, son of Osmar, is considered to be one of the greatest guitar players in the world and appears regularly in festivals all over Europe and the United States. He recently toured Brazil with jazz legend Stanley Jordan. Together with Dodô and Osmar, Armandinho developed the special electric guitar style of Bahia and even crafted unique instruments only played by them. The energy and talent that this group brings to Brazilian culture is undeniable. In 2007 President Lula gave them the National Medal of Cultural Merit. This year during the carnival celebrations in Bahia, Armandinho, Dodô and Osmar will be honored for their achievements and will receive special guests on their “Trio” like the legendary Gilberto Gil and many others. Following carnival, the group will come to South Florida for this special workshop and then will embark on their North American tour to cities like Los Angeles, San Jose, Houston and Calgary.

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity!
