MIAMI, FL - Coral Gables Congregational Church (CGCC) Community Arts Program, winner of the Award Impact Award from the Children's Cultural Coalition, announces auditions for The Young Musicians' ALL-STAR Jazz Ensemble.

All jazz students, ages 14 through 18, who are currently studying and possess a solid grasp of and desire for jazz and seek further exposure and development within a valuable network of other career-minded jazz musicians are encouraged to audition. Auditions are Saturday, October 17 with Thursday evening rehearsals at Coral Gables Congregational Church (3010 De Soto Boulevard, across from the Biltmore Hotel).

Throughout the year (October - May), participants will sharpen skills in sight reading, improv, rhythm and performance while working on jazz repertoire that spans the standards to newly-composed works. Participants will also tackle college preparation and career development while working with CGCC Community Arts Program jazz faculty, some of Miami's finest jazz musicians: Dan Strange, Chad Bernstein, Augie Haas, Jamie Ousley, Sam Petitti, Dan Susnjar and Matt Vashlishan.

Performances over the year (October through May) will culminate in a Sunday, May 16, 2010 concert at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.

To register for an audition and for more information, call the CGCC Community Arts Program at (305) 448-7421, x 120.
