Here is the official statement from The 2009 South Florida International TM Blues Festival:
Blues Festival at NSU Cancelled
Sept. 3, 2009

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – The 2009 South Florida International TM Blues Festival scheduled for Nov. 6-8 at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) has been cancelled.

“In these trying economic times, we as a university must evaluate our priorities and ensure that they are in line with our academic mission,” said George Hanbury, Ph.D., executive vice president and COO at NSU. “While the blues festival has been a popular event at NSU, ultimately our academic programs take precedent and we made the decision to discontinue the festival.”

Anyone who already purchased tickets for the festival will automatically receive a full refund to their credit card. For questions regarding refunds, call 954-262-7228.

Bluzpik Productions, the Talent Buyer for the cancelled festival, has taken immediate action to provide South Florida with a November blues festival experience. Although the lineup will necessarily change due to venue size and the short timeline for planning this event, Bluzpik is currently working with Pulp Live in Fort Lauderdale to provide two full days of music in November.
