"Like Cassandra Wilson, who just won a Grammy for her effort, the team of Davis and Dow has titled its new album for the Cockney flower-peddler's lament Wouldn't It Be Loverly, a showstopper from the musical My Fair Lady. Also like Wilson, the husband-and-wife jazz team from Fort Lauderdale injects Eliza Doolittle's reverie with plenty of bluesy swing and swagger. Credit vocalist Julie Davis' outsize charisma and infectious good humor for transforming the familiar show tune from wistful longing to statement of intent, her self-possessed delivery echoing that of the brassy Dinah Washington."
