Pianist, accordionist, and composer Ben Rosenblum has followed a distinctive musical path that has taken him across more than twenty musical genres and fifteen countries. He has performed alongside world-class musicians, led bands at prestigious venues around the world, and maintained a recognizable melodic voice throughout his work.
Rosenblum has toured with Grammy-winning pop artist Rickie Lee Jones and Juno-winning contemporary Indian singer Kiran Ahluwalia. His diverse collaborations include performing Brazilian choro with Ephrat Asherie Dance and Brazilian forró with The Late Night Show’s Nêgah Santos and the noted forró ensemble Forró in the Dark.
His foundation in jazz has also led to a decade-long relationship with Grammy-winning bassist Curtis Lundy. Through this association, Rosenblum has appeared at festivals alongside respected jazz artists including Bobby Watson, Sean Jones, and Warren Wolf.
In addition to his work in jazz ensembles, Rosenblum has appeared with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on accordion and performed as a guest piano soloist at Carnegie Hall’s Stern-Perelman Auditorium with Maestro Reona Ito’s New York Harmonic Band.
Throughout his career, Rosenblum has maintained a consistent priority: telling a compelling story through music and connecting with audiences on emotional, intellectual, and spiritual levels. He brings this broad range of musical experiences to his projects as a bandleader, maintaining an active touring schedule as a solo artist, with his trio, and most recently with his six-piece ensemble, the Nebula Project.
Since releasing his debut album as a leader, Instead (four stars, DownBeat Magazine), Rosenblum has issued three additional recordings that have received strong critical response. His work has been reviewed favorably in many leading jazz publications, including DownBeat, All About Jazz, Jazziz, JazzTimes, JazzEd, NYC Jazz Record, and JazzLife Japan.
