“The Gainesville Music Scene in the 1970s”

Matheson History Museum presents “The Gainesville Music Scene in the 1970s: Featuring the Great Southern Music Hall and the Photography of John Moran” with (L-R) Jeffrey Meldon, John Moran, Jim Forsman, and Albert Teebagy on Friday, February 24, at 7 p.m. Not shown: Bill DeYoung - moderator.

Tonight’s experience at the Matheson History Museum to celebrate the history of the Great Southern Music Hall and the people that created the space that so many great artists played in! Thanks out to Jim Forsman, Jeffrey Meldon, Albert Teebagy, John Moran and the well-modulated moderator, Bill DeYoung! And so good to hear Tran Whitley Music Experience on the keys (The actual keyboard that Ray Charles used on his first show at Great Southern!!) and out of this world vocals by Jimmy Young that opened the evening.

We were told that the evening will be available soon on YouTube.
Look for it.

The exhibit runs all summer long, so come visit and relive
some great memories!
