and as a member of the bands of Willie Dixon, 
Muddy Waters and Magic Slim, Primer 
touches back to the source of Chicago blues and 
carries on the legacy into the 21st century.

Currently nominated in three 2023 Blues Music 
Award categories (Traditional Blues Album - Hard 
Times, Album of the Year - Hard Times, Traditional 
Blues Male), Primer has earned two Grammy Award 
nominations and dozens of awards and nominations 
from Blues Music Awards, Blues Blast Music 
Awards and Living Blues magazine.
