City Announces Actions to Address Spread of Coronavirus
To protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of Pompano Beach is cancelling or postponing public gatherings. Effective Monday, March 16th, all events, meetings (including City Commission Meetings) and programs in City facilities will be cancelled or postponed until after April 1st.
The City continues to monitor and collaborate with local, state and federal agencies regarding the Coronavirus and will evaluate future actions necessary to protect the health and well-being of our residents and visitors.
Mayor Rex Hardin has already issued a proclamation declaring a public health emergency. This allows the City to take any and all protective actions necessary to protect our employees and the public to the best of our ability.
A 24 hour Florida Department of Health call center is available at 866-779-6121 or email COVID- 19@flhealth.gov.

Join your jazz friends for a new kind of combo! A Taste of Jazz at Bailey Contemporary Arts will feature entertaining and educational encounters with the musical genre, accompanied by wine tastings. The introduction to jazz series will showcase the musicians of the Gold Coast Jazz Society Band, under the direction of Martin Hand. The next session will take place from 7-8:30 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2020. The session has moved to the second Thursday of each month. TICKETS $10-$20 per event. “A Taste of Jazz is a fun way to learn more about the celebrated musical genre without feeling intimidated or overwhelmed,” said Jody Leshinsky, Cultural Venues Programming Manager. “So many people want to learn more about this original American art form but do not know where to begin. We created this event series for them! And by adding wine tastings from local vendors, it has truly become a fun-filled social event.”
