Jonathan Joseph's Weather Underground (Johnathan Joseph - Drums, Pete Sebastian - Bass, Randy Bernsen - Guitar, TBA - keyboards) . Jonathan has had a remarkable career, working with some of the greatest musical minds of the modern era, one of whom was Josef Zawinul, a founder of the great fusion band Weather Report. Jonathan became a member of his later band, the Zawinul Syndicate, in 1994 -1995 but before that, he worked with former member of Jaco Pastorius's Word Of Mouth band, the great Steel Drummer Othello Molineaux. As a member of Othello's band, Jonathan played on Othello's album entitled "It's About Time." Jonathan's performance on this album helped launch the tremendous career he currently enjoys which includes drumming for widely acclaimed artists such as Alexander O’Neal, Al Jarreau, Mike Stern, Bill Evans, David Sanborn, Pat Metheny, Randy Brecker. Touring highlights include working with Ricky Martin during the “vinĂ la vida loca” Tour and Joss Stone during the Soul Sessions Tour.

"The sound Jaco created represents the sound of South Florida and since I was born on Miami Beach, I have always been very honored to be associated with the sound of his music".

With a view to keeping the spirit found in Jaco's music and Weather Report's ("WR") catalogue alive, Jonathan has assembled a tremendous group of musicians capable of executing WR's & Jaco's collective catalogue, once again bringing life to the soundtrack of many people's lives all over the world. Assembling the Weather Underground band, Jonathan reached out to longtime friend and fellow Zawinul Syndicate alumnus guitarist Randy Bernsen and bassist Pete Sebastian.

The Next Generation Veterans of Vero Beach have commissioned a monumental sculpture to be installed in Riverside Park poised between our Museum of Art and the entrance to Veterans Memorial Island. We realized that there are but a few monuments nationwide representing our men and women who have, and still are, fighting the longest war in U.S. history – it’s time!

WORD FROM WAR is a monument being created by renowned sculptor Ross Power and stands more than 9 feet tall and 18 feet in diameter. Over 44,000 pounds of precision cast concrete is being used to replicate T-Walls, the symbol of safety known by all desert combat veterans. Forty-eight words are boldly cast into the three monolithic walls, words that come directly from the Iraq/Afghanistan combat veterans who have engaged in deeply personal interviews with the artist.

Over the past two years, artist Ross Power has immersed himself with our young veterans who have served in the Iraq/Afghanistan wars. So impressed with their selfless service, he will be giving a financial contribution equaling half his commission to the Indian River County Veterans Council for all their great work supporting our local veterans in need.
