Atlanta, Georgia based Jus’ BluesMusic Foundation, Inc. (JBMF) is hosting their 13th annual summer event spectacular, the 2013 Jus` Blues Music Awards Conference in Memphis for three days of festivities. The venue again will be the beautiful Hilton Hotel in East Memphis.
The
schedule of events so far includes:
Thursday,
August 1st
“Blues Got a Soul” Kids Workshop Series
This
two day Education and Technology Workshop Series is designed especially for
middle and high school students. The workshop will focus on the history
and evolution of Blues music in America and technology trends. Master
musicians are involved and will offer presentations and demonstrations. This
year we host the Belmont Youth Band from Pensacola Florida Directors Ms. Vivian
Lamont & Mr. Danny Lewis.
2013 Jus` Blues Music Awards
This
spectacular formal banquet style event features great performances and entertainment tributes celebrating the
achievements of internationally accomplished musicians, artists and industry
professionals who have made an indelible mark in the history of Blues &
Soul music. Also recognized are artists and groups who were unanimously
nominated as the best in their respective categories by popular online
voting at www.jusblues.org. Also
included is “The Night of the Living Legends” segment in which selected
honorees are awarded and celebrated for their contributions to the Blues &
Soul music genre. This year’s honorees include: Lenny Williams,
Carla Thomas, Garland Green, Drink Small, Roy Roberts, Lee “Mr. Lee” Kirksy and
radio legend Bernie Hayes.

Skilled
technology experts will present various ways that music artists (veteran and
new talents) can better market, promote and sell their works using online
mediums and other technologies.
Our panel:
“Festival Director” Paul Benjamin co/founder of the North Atlantic Blues Festival, in its 20th year, held annually in Rockland, MA, Awarded 2002 “Best Festival” by The Blues Foundation. He will share valuable information about how to market artists to national & international festivals.

agreements. Mr. Johnston is an accomplished speaker and has most recently
lectured for music conferences in France, South Africa, England and
China.

Memphis, Bobby and his crew will show patrons exquisite dance moves to rib
shaking tunes as we also go stepping with Andre ‘Lee and his Band. Let's
celebrate Blues & Dance at the 2013 Jus` Blues Music Awards conference!
