"CANADA’S FAVOURITE jazz pianist, Oliver Jones, tried to retire 10 years ago, but his mentor and friend, Oscar Peterson, with whom he shares a two-handed tsunami approach to the keyboard, wouldn’t let him get away with it. "I stopped playing for close to five years at the end of ’99," Jones said over the phone from his Montreal summer home last week."
