Three-time GRAMMY® Award winner Bobby Rush brings more than seven decades of blues music and showmanship to Curtis Peterson Auditorium in Lecanto, Florida, on Sunday, December 6, 2026, for a special afternoon concert.

A member of the Blues Hall of Fame, Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame, and Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame, Rush has built a remarkable career as a singer, songwriter, harmonica player, and entertainer. His distinctive combination of traditional blues, Southern soul, funk, humor, and storytelling has earned him an international following and a place among the most influential living blues performers.

Known for his energetic stage presence, expressive harmonica playing, and sometimes mischievous humor, Rush has entertained generations of blues audiences with songs including Chicken Heads, Bowlegged Woman, Knock-Kneed Man, and I Ain't Studdin' Ya. His performances combine music and storytelling drawn from a lifetime of experiences in American blues.

Rush has also shared his personal history through his autobiography, I Ain't Studdin' Ya: My American Blues Story. His seven-decade musical journey is the subject of the documentary Bobby Rush: King of the Chitlin' Circuit, scheduled for national PBS broadcasts beginning November 23, 2026.

His life and music also inspired Slippin' Through the Cracks: The Bobby Rush Musical, which received its world premiere at New Stage Theatre in Jackson, Mississippi, in October 2026.

Reflecting on the importance of the blues, Rush has said:

"It's the root of all music; it's the mother of all music. If you don't like the blues, you probably don't like your mama."
