The Ron Carter Trio (Featured in the current issue of Jazz & Blues Floridawill be our headliner at our free HAPCO Jazz Show on Saturday, Sep 24, 2022 in Oakland, Florida. It’s your chance to experience his groundbreaking technique and style in person.

Opening the Show is the UCF Flying Horse Big Band under the direction of saxophonist and American jazz musician, Jeff Rupert. Guest vocalist Lenard Rutledge will perform with them. The Orlando Youth Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Jesus Lopez will also perform.

Ron Carter is a legendary jazz bassist who has performed all over the world and recorded over 2,500 albums. He has been a guiding influence in the world of music since he began his career in the early 1960s. He was a member of Miles Davis’ now classic quintet from 1963-68, along with Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams and Wayne Shorter.

This is an outdoor event. Ample free parking available. Bring your own chairs or blankets if desired. Limited food, beer and wine available for purchase.

HAPCO Music Foundation is hosting the Ron Carter Trio’s performance, which is presented in collaboration with Pappy Martin Legacy Jazz Collective and Tennessee Valley Jazz Society and supported by Presenter Consortium for Jazz, a program of Chamber Music America, funded through the generosity of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
