HAIL, HAIL to ALL out there in Earl's land....THIS SUNDAY ONLY......a WINDY CITY SPECTACULAR featuring the one and only LIL' ED & the BLUES IMPERIALS AS WELL AS the fabulous NICK MOSS & the NICK MOSS Band both coming from the very cold and windy city of CHICAGO- the home of the Blues! Now, you might think that the Blues is only for the down trodden and depressed, but you would be OH, SO WRONG!! These Blues boys know exactly how to ROCK...and are two of the most well known bands in the world. Not only that, but Lil' ED and the IMPERIALS has won the BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE award more than once, and to see that man -  IN HIS FEZ - and Chuck Taylor high tops jump up and down all over the place is worth the trip alone. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL - this Sunday, we are adding the NICK MOSS Band to the mix!!!!

Speaking of the 'bout that Biscuit Miller and his MIX last Sunday? Boatloads of FUN, FUN FUN was had by all... ...Biscuit and the band were really kickin' it up a notch in front of the roaring crowd and played encore after encore till we finally had to let him go before they fell down from sheer exhaustion ! AND, when they invited our sound engineer, the multi talented DAVE SCOTT onto the stage to rock that guitar... it was like taking off in a rocket ship! The stage was literally vibrating with music, dancing and tremendous energy. EARL'S only keeps getting better n' better...for all of us! So, back to this upcoming show...

Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials is one of the only bands in the scene today that still boasts their original members...ALL 4 of them...AFTER 26 YEARS ! Now, THAT's impressive! Not only are they able to finish each other's sentences, but the band is musically speaking... that they never miss a note... Coming from a musical family, Ed and his half brother "Pookie" (on bass), along with Mike Garrett on guitar and Kelly Littleton on drums are true Chicago legends... Though the old school Chicago Blues is the band's biggest influence, they have very eclectic tastes and also listen to country, opera, country and everything in between... never knowing what will strike a chord and inspire them to write something new... As Ed says... People are always looking for something different, so we will give it to them... and with many CD's out there, there's a LOT to choose from... and if you've ever seen Lil' Ed... you know that he is NEVER without his signature FEZ... hence the hats...We'll be celebrating Ed's Birthday this Sunday...and EVERYONE will have their own PARTY HAT....a FEZ, of course, in his honor! And there will be PLENTY of THEM on hand to choose from!

Now, on to another very talented performer stepping onto the Earl's stage - NICK MOSS and the Nick Moss Band. Full of R&B, lots of soul and a little bit of Rock and Roll......Also raised in Chicago , NM has just released his latest CD called "TIME AIN'T FREE"... a culmination of the band's new sound... a hard driving mix of soul music, blues, funk, gospel, southern rock, R&B and boogie woogie. Adding to the new sound of the NMB is explosive second lead guitarist... opera trained... Michael Ledbetter... whose gene pool comes from the BLUES HALL of FAMER.... LEAD BELLY!! Under Moss's tutelage, Ledbetter has become one of the premier vocalists in the genre and is featured on lead vocals in many of the new album's tunes......And, when the band premiered the song "It'll Turn Around" at the 34th Annual Blues Music Awards in Memphis, garnered a standing ovation... In fact, last time they were at EARL'S, they blew the house down... and we KNOW, we can look forward to that same kind of intensity this time around... and this record was JUST RELEASED on March 18th! So, we are one of the first venues to showcase the new album. A perfect mix of tradition and innovation, a 6-string performance that storms out of your speakers like a bombing run... loaded with grit and sweaty grind!!

SO, if you want a true taste of the BLUES... you don't have to go to Chicago and bite down into a deep dish pizza to get it... Just... COME ON DOWN to the RIVER this Sunday and bring dem' DANCIN' SHOES !. WE GOT THE DA FEZ for YOU... Cause....

Everyone will be on site this weekend...the LION'S CLUB, along with the BLUE WATER OPEN folks on behalf of the YELLOW UMBRELLA ( raising $$ to help abused kids), the NICK MOSS Band and Lil' Ed & the IMPERIALS... and, Franni SEZ... GET YOUR FEZ on... bring your own, get one there, or come on down a little EARLY and MAKE YOUR OWN! We'll have ALL the trimmings there for YOU! It's time to MAKE a PARTY!!

ALL MLB games, NASCAR, ROUNDBALL, the MASTERS and other sporting events available at the bar..

NEXT WEEK: the sounds of SOUTHERN ROCK return with the JEFFREY JAMES GANG!!
