On May 2nd the Eustis Mustang Music Association and volunteering students will be at The Eustis First Friday Street Fest and they will be raising funds by selling canvas art that the students painted. All art is purchased with donation only. There will be an 11x18 Plein Air style painting that was donated by band parent Kate Carney. Kate Carney is a member of The Eustis Art league and her painting is a framed original oil . Kate Carney, A Studio Life is a professional renown local artist who sells her paintings that showcase many things from animals to landscape. Please stop by the Mustang tent to see this wonderful piece of art.
The Mustangs will be doing a drawing for such things as free dinners from their long term sponsor Sol De Mexico in downtown Eustis, free lessons for a month from Grappling Mastery located at 516 South Duncan Drive, Tavares and more. The students will also have information on the Mustang Summer Band Camp, their free community concert on May 15, 2014 at the First Baptist Church that will feature the three concert bands, The Jazz Band and The Steel Drum Band seating begins at 6:30 p.m. with basket drawings at the door and they will have a slideshow showcasing the talents of the band. They will also have information on sponsorship because the band bought a new 27 foot trailer because they expanded the Steel Drum Band this year and this trailer remains bare and needs sponsorship so they can add logos to the trailer that gets taken to every event and makes a great traveling billboard.
The Mustangs will have tickets to their last fundraiser of the year. The Mustangs are teaming up with the Elks Lodge for a large BBQ "Fun"draiser. Dinners will be on May 10, 2014 at The Elks Lodge at 2540 Dora Ave, Tavares, FL 32778 and plates will include 1/4 chicken, pulled pork, BBQ beans, coleslaw and a dinner roll. These plates will be available from 5-7 p.m and by take out, eat in and also business deliveries starting at 2:30 p.m.. These funds will all go to the financial aid and scholarships that the Mustang Music Association provides.
The Mustangs are also proud that they will have a bin available for community to drop off can goods and non perishable items. These items will be donated to Hearts and Hands in Eustis. The Fall Food Drive brought in almost 1,000 pounds and fed an entire city for two weeks. So please come by and say hello, see the art and bring a can good or a non-perishable item to help the band students help the community.
