Brazilian Jazz and Bossa Nova guitarist and vocalist PHILL FEST returns to Tampa
with his South Florida-based band and special musical guests. Their concert will
include music from the recent cd, ‘Projeto B.F.C.’ – the Brazil-Florida
Connection, which has been heard on major jazz radio outlets coast-to-coast, and
was among the 2013 favorites on WUSF’s All Night
Jazz.
Based in South Florida since 2001, Phill lived in
the Bay Area in his teens and 20’s,performing and recording with his father,
legendary Brazilian pianist Manfredo Fest. Those years also
included extensive touring with Joey Dee & The Starliters, and lots of work
with the band Dee Force.
The band, which includes
acclaimed pianist ROBERT PRESTER and singer JACQUIE MEDEIROS, will be joined by
Bay Area percussionist IGNACIO MARIN and other special guests and old friends in
a real ‘welcome home’ atmosphere. Don’t miss this rare chance to enjoy true
