A jazz & blues night in Palm Beach County November 3, 2011

Yes, yes indeed, it is was another great, great night for music in Florida. Clematis by Night, waterside in West Palm Beach, w/ the first visit to the area from one of Tallahassee's finest - The Swinging Harpoon Blues Band. Then MILES HIGH (Kirk Green ) and his new group under the stars at Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca ( 4 more coming up in that series: Nov. 10: Iko Iko and Nicole Yarling; 13: FAU Jazz Band and Marching Band; 17: Conjunto Progresso; Dec 2: Nicole Henry), then up the Dixie to the Pavilion Grille for some class-action with Mark Fernicola's big band (next jazz night: Nov 17: Anthony Corrado w/ vocalist Lourdes Valentine), then wrapping it up under the palms at South Shores Patio Bar in lake Worth w/ Reverend Raven and the Chain Smoking Altar Boys w/ PBC Sheriff's department's finest. Way to go Rev - they found you already on your first night in town! Glad they didn't take you away... this time! All the way a round, a night of great music, weather, people and places. Sigh... only about 200 nights of this left before next summer comes around!

You can catch Swingin Harpoon tonight before they leave the area at Blues41 in Boca Raton. Check the listings at www.JazzBluesFlorida.com/PalmBeach for more info on that show, the Mizner jazz series, and the Pavilion. The Reverend is road-warrioring it all over the southern half of the state for a couple weeks, so check out East-central, the Southwest, the Palm Beach, the West-central and the Keys listing pages for him!

Hope your Thursday was as good as mine!
Charlie
