Description: This presentation is part of Dr. Terryl Lawrence's art lecture series, “A Gathering of Artists, Salons and Collectors” and part of the library's Chautauqua South.
Lawrence received her doctorate in applied art and art history from Columbia University Teachers College, her master’s in painting and drawing from Columbia University and a certificate in design from New York School of Interior Design. She has studied at the National Academy of Fine Art in New York, the Art Students League and the International Center of Photography. Among the many artists with whom she has studied are Joseph Hirsch, Moses Soyer, Burt Silverman, Marshall Glaser and David Meisel. She has exhibited widely and won numerous awards. She is currently an instructor in the Art Department of Florida Atlantic University.
